Stop & smell the Rosé (Valentine's Day, 2017).

It was crackin' as fuck for Valentine's Day with my luvrboy. I made him a chicken nugget bouquet, which I got a lot of compliments on, on snap-chat (Thanks, guys, LOL), & I got him basketball gifts in honor of NBA All-Star weekend the following weekend, & he took me to the Bite Beauty Lip Lab, so I can create my own custom lipstick shades, & I even get to pick their finish, their scent, etc., & he took me to the city for some shopping & out for some dinner, too.

I mostly want to talk about the Bite Beauty Lip Lab, since I've been getting hella questions about it. They have two services. For the first one, you get to pick & or mix an already pre-made pigment / shade or more, & you get to pick from a range of 200 pigments / shades. You can either get one lipstick made for $55 or two for $80. For the second service, you actually get to create your own shade from scratch. You can't just get one because it's a whole package deal. It's $150 for two lipsticks & a lip kit that includes their agave lip mask, which I have, & it works really well. No matter what service you choose, you still get to pick what kind of finish you want your lipstick to have (glossy / sheer, matte creme, amuse bouche), & you still also get to pick what kind of scent you want it to have (cherry, mint, vanilla, citrus, mango, violet, coconut, wild berry, fresh citrus, lime), & you can even mix the scents up together. I made the prettiest shades of pinks, nudes, & greiges that don't have an extremely brown under-tone that make you look dead, & I made them with matte creme finishes, which I love because the Bite Beauty matte creme formula's so long-lasting & non-drying. Like, it never cracks on me, & I gave them all a mango & vanilla scent. I'm going in again to make a pretty, cool-toned periwinkle, a red shade, & a black shade. I'll actually be going there a whole lot ♥ I had so much fun, & I loved watching the lip techs mix up the pigments that I chose with essential oils, heat it up, pour it into a cooling metal bullet mold, & put it into a tube. Each lipstick took about half an hour each, & they save all of your formulas in their system, so if you ever wanna create the same shade ever again, you can.

Lastly, Happy Valentine's Day to my Cobain. You're the Jim to my Pam, & you're like tacos on a drunk night. Thanks for always calling me cars, taking me out shopping, having food delivered over to me, taking me out for drinks after a long day, etc. My heart's gush, & I love you more than the amount of times that your mom has asked me if I've eaten.

Btw, I love everyone's Valentine's Day posts (but please refrain from typing paragraph-long captions). <3 <3 <3

I've always wanted a Russian hat ever since I saw Angelina Jolie wear one in the movie, "Salt", & Emma Roberts in the TV show, "Scream Queens".

Bad romance.

2/8/2017

I want your love. I don't wanna be friends.

Here's some afternoon inspo for all of you guys. I remember the first time I fell in love with Lady Gaga was when she came out with "Bad Romance", & I loved it for multiple reasons:
  • As you all know, for me personally, inspiration breeds in the darkest places, & the theme for this music video was really dark. As you guys also know, I have an extremely good eye when it comes to recognizing designer brands, even by the smallest details, & all of the crowns, cat-suits, lobster heels, etc. in this music video were by Alexander McQueen, one of the many designers who heavily influences my personal style because he gets inspiration from his love of all things dark as well. "Bad Romance" was also the song finale that played at McQueen's run-way fashion show the season & year that this song & music video debuted.
  • Lady Gaga said that she had her eyes edited to make them look bigger just like an anime character's, & I love the Japanese, from their fashion to their culture, etc. A lot of Japanese contact lens companies that made contact lenses that made your eyes look bigger by covering some of the white areas of your eyes made a lot of money when Lady Gaga popularized it. She said that she wanted to look like a "drugged up little doll" in the music video.
  • I admire detail, & that's both a blessing & a curse, but that's also how I have such a good eye when it comes to recognizing a lot of things, especially when it comes to designer brands & fashion, & I couldn't help but notice that in the opening scene of the music video, Lady Gaga was wearing sun-glasses that were made out of fucking razor blades. So dope.
  • This is the first time that I thought Lady Gaga actually looked really beautiful, especially in the scenes where she has minimal make-up on, & she looks like she's crying. It's such a great look for days that you wanna wear less make-up.

"Bad Romance" is definitely one of my favorite music videos of all times, & I'll always be one of Lady Gaga's "little monsters", a name that she calls all of her fans, even though I haven't really paid that much attention to her before & after her "Fame Monster" album. Oh, & did you guys watch her Super Bowl 51 half-time performance? I'm more of a basketball type of girl, so I don't know shit about football, but I know that Tom Brady won his fifth ring, & he got to go home to the highest paid super-model in the whole entire world, Gisele Bundchen, but I was mostly there for Lady Gaga. In honor of her half-time performance, I did part of my hair in the shape of a bow, just like how she did hers circa 2009. She performed hella songs, including "Bad Romance", & her exit was hella dope. She was at the top of the stairs, dropped her mic, caught a football, yelled, "Super Bowl 51!", & then, she jumped / fell off. GAGA DOWN.

xoxo,
Camille
