Here's my unwinding routine & how I decompress after a long day in no particular order:
  • Foot spa / soak my feet in hot water: On incredibly long days when I've been on my feet all day, whether it's from being at work all day or from shopping all day, I love soaking my feet in hot water. I got this amazing at-home foot spa during a White Elephant game one Christmas season, & I use it all of the time. It's so good. My mom & Danica have even used it, too, lol.
  • To bed: Most of the time, I just go to bed naked or half-naked, even when it's really cold, because I love that feeling of my skin against the duvet covers. Other times, I'll wear Re/Done x Hanes or tiny tops from Brandy Melville. I don't care how much money I make. I'll always love Hanes & Brandy Melville! <3
  • My skin care & body routine: After I brush my teeth, I perform my entire skin care routine while I have a teeth whitening strip on. I also moisturize the rest of my body.
  • Read: In bed or in the bath.
  • Look at my agenda for the following day: Doing this gives me a heads-up regarding what I'm doing the next day, & it lets me know when I should wake up by.
  • Take a bath: I love a hot bath after a long day to the point where it's like a sweat lodge. I draw a bath that's composed of half epsom salt & half oil, which is especially helpful after an intense work-out because it alleviates some soreness, I burn a candle or some incense, & I bring some g-f snacks in there with me.
  • Foam roll
  • Put something on to watch
  • Drink a whole bottle of either chlorophyll water from Pressed Juicery, alkaline water by Essentia, or spring water by Evian: I wake up in the morning feeling clean inside & out.
  • Cassey Ho's "Stretches that you can do after a long & stressful day" Youtube video

I end the night thankful for an incredibly busy & productive day, & I'm ready to start fresh again the next day.

25 facts about me.

3/25/2019

Picture
  1. Forget white toe nails. My favorite nail polish color for my toes is red, "Hiking Heels" by the brand, Essie, to be exact.
  2. My child-hood nickname that all of my friends & family used to call me was, "Cissy". To this day, some people, including my mom, still call me that. If you hear any of my friends call me that, then you know that we've been friends for a very long time, probably since we were kids.
  3. I've always wanted to be a nurse, but for quite some time in my youth, I had a phase where I wanted to be an architect. I obviously got over that quick. My ultimate dream job's to be a doctor, specifically a surgeon, & it's very realistic for me to achieve, but I've only been flirting with the idea because I'm in & out about going to school for that long. I am, however, still interested in climbing my way up & becoming a PA, which is the position that's just above a nurse & just below a doctor. As a PA, I'd like to specialize in either Pathology or Emergency Medicine. As a surgeon, I'd love to work in almost any type of surgical specialty, Neurosurgery being my first choice & Cardiothoracic surgery as my second. If I were to be a regular doctor & not a surgeon, I'm interested in Emergency Medicine, probably because I'm already in the ER.
  4. I have to deep-clean my room before I leave for a trip, even if it's only for a weekend or something. I feel like if I know where everything is, then I know that I didn't forget to pack something.
  5. My very first pair of Jordans were the 14's.
  6. I was nine years old & in fourth grade when I got my first period.
  7. My first car ever was an MR2. It really pains me to see pictures of & with it from the old days & many moons ago before I crashed it. It's kinda' fixed now, but it still excessively leaks oil, so it just sits in my parents' garage back in my home-town. It's one of my all-time favorite cars. Some of my other favorite cars - not really to own, but just in general - are the Countach, Nissan Sileighty, & BMW E30 M3. Classics.
  8. I hate getting dark. You won't ever see me willingly do shit out in the sun for a long period of time because I wanna stay light-skinned, lol. In fact, while I was growing up & up until high school, a majority of my skin care products during my adolescent youth were mostly composed of whitening skin care products. I still like to tan, but just not for a long period of time.
  9. After I got my braces taken off before my freshman year in high school, I got a permanent retainer behind my teeth for life, & it was one of the best decisions my mom has ever made for me. Everyone's teeth shift over the years, so as a result, some people can go back to having crooked & / or uneven teeth even if they've had braces before, but not me.
  10. In the past almost decade that I've had my license, I've gotten pulled over multiple times, but I've only gotten a ticket once, & it was for texting & driving. One of the most memorable times that I've gotten pulled over was on Halloween years ago when I was driving with four other friends, & it was because I was wearing the Ghost-face mask from the movie, "Scream", while I was driving. At the time, I didn't know that you couldn't drive with a mask on because it covers your eyes, & such a mask is considered a disturbance to others & could also hinder your vision while you're driving.
  11. I'm very ambitious, driven, & hard-working academically, but I can get extremely lazy. Not at work or school, but definitely at home. One time, I was so lazy to wash my dishes at home, let alone even put them all in the dish-washer that I threw them all out after two weeks, & I just bought a whole entire new dining set instead. That's what happens when you grow up spoiled & privileged as fuck & had a nanny, so you never had to do anything around the house while you were growing up. My mom agreed with my path in nursing as a career because she said that if I wanted to continue being spoiled, have / pay people to do shit for me, continue having expensive habits, etc., then I'd have to make good money to do so.
  12. Doing the dishes are actually my least favorite chore. I'll clean every inch & corner of my house, but I hate doing the dishes.
  13. I have my own house, & I live alone, but I rarely park on my own drive-way. I always park on my front curb because I'm too lazy to back out of my drive-way, so my drive-way's always open. My boyfriend & my friends park on my drive-way when they come over, lol.
  14. Theatre's my hidden talent. I'm not really a shy person, so getting up in front of an audience has always been easy for me. I was in a lot of school plays when I was in high school, & my monologues were / are the best.
  15. When I was a little girl, my mom used to read novels to me every single night until I fell asleep.
  16. I was a spelling bee champion for eight years in a row / all through-out grade school. I made it to county & district every single year, & I still have all of my medals from every single year, too. I think it's because I read a lot.
  17. I got my very first phone when I was eleven & in sixth grade, & I've had the same phone number ever since.
  18. I did my first photo-shoot when I was 14.
  19. 13 & 21 are my favorite numbers. Unlucky 13's ironically my lucky number. I love odd numbers, & I do everything in odd numbers.
  20. I have never in my life made a Face-book. I don't even know how to use it, so if you ever see me on there, then it's a fake account.
  21. I have a little birth mark on my butt cheek. It's shaped like a little cloud, lol.
  22. Despite my career & field, I've actually always been effortlessly good, if not better,  at English & / or subjects that require a lot of reading & writing in general, like history as well. Get you a STEM major who can do both.
  23. I haven't used a VSCO filter on any of my pictures since 2017. I don't filter a lot of my pictures anymore.
  24. I didn't get into watching basketball until I was 14.
  25. My first near-death experience happened when I was six. I almost drowned. Since then, I've had a handful of near-death experiences, all of which revolve mostly around drowning, really, lmfao.

Home for the holidays (xxxmas, 2018).

12/24/2018

Here's this year's Christmas card. Besitos to everyone that shows me love in ways that are important to me. If you kissed me, cuddled with me, laughed with me, ate with me, studied with me, & partied with me this year, then I love you, & I'm thankful. My cup runneth over. <3

Merry Kiss-mas :-*

Eloise at Christmas Time.

I've put together an extremely affordable list of stocking stuffers to consider when deciding what to gift your loved ones for Christmas this year. Some are useful & practical, but most importantly, they each cost below $50. What helped me compose this list was thinking about little things that I'd want from someone who has me in Secret Santa or something, & you have to remember that not everyone can afford your taste! I'm not sure what the budget is for people's Secret Santas, so I just listed gifts that are all under $50 just in case.
  • A. Wang x Uniqlo Extra Warm Heat-tech: I love & have everything from this line, & I wear it everywhere: to bed, under my scrubs at the hospital, on my days off, etc. My favorite thing from the line's that all white long-sleeve body-suit that all of the influencers have. <3 Know your essentials, & wear them daily.
  • Candles: When I was in high school, Bath & Body Works had "French Baguette" scented candles, & they discontinued it. As a result, I saved my last two "French Baguette" candles for over a decade, & I never burned them. I recently walked in there to  include in a few Christmas gifts this year, & I saw that the scent was back, but one of the sales associates said that it wasn't permanent, so I stocked up on them again, lol. You can also get Diptyque candles. The 2.4 oz. size is $35. My favorite Diptyque candle scent's "Noisetier". I judge people based on their favorite scented Diptyque candle. Get this one.
  • Hand cream: This is such a great mini gift for your friends that are nurses / nursing students because their hands are extremely dry from hand sanitizing all day. My favorite hand creams are from L'Occitane, Buly 1803, Byredo, & Le Labo.
Picture
  • Books: If your friends don't read, then they don't even deserve Christmas gifts. Books are some of the greatest gifts of all.
  • Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask or the Chanel Hydra-Beauty Nourishing Lip Balm: These are two of my favorite lip products. Read about them in the "Skin Care" tab of my blog.
  • Silk sleeping mask / eye mask: I have one by the brand, Slip, & I take it with me almost everywhere - to my boyfriend's house, in the car, etc., lol.
  • Daily tear-off / page-a-day desk calendar: I love picking a new one out at the end of every year. Book-stores like Barnes & Noble have a wide variety that you can see which theme(s) fit your friends & pick out. I always get the ones that have to deal with murder / serial killer facts, nursing, or the humorous ones.
  • Make-up & skin care products from Sephora's travel size section: Some notable & worthy make-up & skin care products to consider that luckily come in travel sizes & can be found in this section include the Dr. Dennis Gross Alpha Beta Extra Strength Daily Peels, the Ole Henriksen "Balance It All" Essentials Kit, & the Hour Glass Mineral Veil Primer.
  • Gift cards to coffee shops: A practical little gift for college students who study at coffee shops all of the time.
  • Something customized & personal that's meant for the person / people that you're giving the gift to: These kinds of gifts are some of my favorites. My friend, Jennifer, had a necklace made for me once. Sometimes, I'll make a mini advent calendar for my friends, & each day on the calendar is a cubby that has a mini gift in it. One of my friends that I always customize / personally make gifts for often is Chelsea. I bought a mini clear acrylic case from The Container Store, & I covered & filled the whole entire thing up with stickers that reminded me of her & were all about her, & each drawer had a little gift in it. Chelsea & I share a lot of indie music with each other as well, so one time, the box / packaging for one of her gifts had colorful sticky notes all over it, & each sticky note had a new song on it that I hadn't shared with her yet, etc. Just be fun & creative!
  • Butter socks: I own a billion. They're so soft.
