I had a really lowkey weekend this past weekend with my nigga & a group of our friends. I don't remember half of Saturday because half of us were on prescription drugs in the day time. The boys played SFV, we door-dashed some food, went to the Pace Gallery in Palo Alto, talked about work, caught up over wine, etc., & in the evening, we all drank (hard liquor this time. Not wine, lol), & we played this game called, "Doors to the Mind", at 3 AM (witching hour). My hg, Melanie, introduced it to us because she & her room mates at SF State do it all of the time. We were all in a circle with all of the lights out in my homie, Edric's, room of the apartment, we lit some candles & incense, & she basically tried to access our subconscious. Melanie obviously led the game, & whoever's turn it was laid their head on a pillow on her lap while she massaged their temples for, like, three minutes. Everyone in the room had to be hella quiet, & you had to be super relaxed, meditated, & your mind had to be super blank, or it wouldn't work. After massaging your temples while your eyes were closed in complete silence for several minutes, Melanie talked to you & tried to guide you through a corridor. Everyone's different, what everyone's going through is different, what you see behind the doors in your mind's corridor's different, & the things that you see could mean a lot of different things that we may or may not be able to tell what exactly they symbolize. This game could either be a good or bad experience for you. You had to describe the corridor that your mind led you to & let you see in extreme detail to Melanie. "What color's the carpet, the walls, the doors, the door knobs, etc.? Are there a lot of doors? Are any of the doors locked? Do you have anything in your pockets? What are behind the doors?" Some tips that she included before opening the doors was that if you saw a man in a suit or a room full of clocks, then you had to leave the room immediately because they were traps (The room full of clocks makes you lose track of time, & you wouldn't be able to tell the real time). These are some common traps that some people who play this game have, but there are also a whole lot of different unique traps that try to prevent you from leaving the room & corridor (like mine, which I'll share in a little bit). In addition, it's always good to make sure that all of the doors in the corridor are closed before you leave or before Melanie wakes you up.
I wasn't in the room for Melanie's session, but I think she opened one of the doors in her corridor, & it was just pitch black, & when she was gonna leave & close it, someone or something grabbed her, so she just woke up.
Edric had a pretty neutral dream. I think his corridor was pretty bright, & there was one door that he opened that had like floating washers & screws in it, & there was another door at the end of the corridor that had this weird symbol on it, but he told Melanie that he didn't wanna open it because he was getting negative vibes from it, so Melanie just walked him out of the corridor.
My hg, Erin, had a weird & creepy corridor. Some of the doors were locked, but she was able to open one, & it was dark & pitch black in there, too. She walked out of the room, closed the door, & walked away, but she heard a creak, & when she looked back, the door was open a little bit again. She walked over to close it (again), walked away (again), heard the creak (again), & when she looked back, the door was open (... again), & she really wanted to leave because she was starting to get a little uncomfortable, but Melanie wouldn't walk her out of the corridor until she closed the door because you couldn't leave if any of the doors were still open for obvious reasons (A part of you or your mind would be left in there, etc.), but Erin managed to get it closed after several tries.
Then, we got to me, & mine was kinda' creepy. I knew I was gonna get some scary & foul ass shit because I have a lot of negative energy, lmfao. I had a long corridor with multiple doors on each side. Some were locked, & some of the doors that I opened were just pitch black & dark. Then, there was one door that I opened, & it was really dim inside, but it was kinda' glimmering. I walked in, & I realized that it was a room full of mirrors. They were mostly regular mirrors, but some of them were like fun house mirrors that distorted your face & figure. I walked around, & I couldn't see myself completely because like I said, it was hella dim in there. I could only see my silhouette. Then, I started to feel this weird presence with me, & I could only see its' shadow, but never the person or thing itself completely, even though I could always feel it following me or coming closer to me, & the vibe that I got from it was negative, so Melanie told me to get out of the room, but I couldn't because the mirrors made everything look the same, & I couldn't find my way back out because in every direction that I looked, I just saw me, the shadow, & mirrors reflecting off of the other mirrors, so I was kinda' trapped in there, & Melanie had to wake me up.
Anyway, this was a really weird ass experience, but I really love dark & creepy shit like this, lol. If you really wanna play it, make sure you do it right, or it won't work.
