What better day for the Netflix original, "A Series of Unfortunate Events", to come out than on Friday the 13th, one of my favorite days of the year. If you've read & seen "A Series of Unfortunate Events", then you know that Lemony Snicket dedicates a lot of his work to someone named Beatrice, & she's frequently mentioned through-out the whole entire series, & it's later revealed that she's the Baudelaire orphans' mother. Lemony Snicket also wrote a separate book for Beatrice called, "The Beatrice Letters", which I also loved, by the way. Her character was inspired by Beatrice Portinari, Dante Alighieri's (the italian poet) inspiration & true love, who he met at the age of nine, & she was eight. Beatrice Portinari married another man, & she died three years later. Beatrice Baudelaire, who Lemony Snicket met when he was eleven, & she was ten, also married another man, & she also eventually died. Additionally, if you didn't know, the author of "A Series of Unfortunate Events" is Daniel Handler, & he goes under the pen name / pseudonym, Lemony Snicket.
