I used to be super athletic in high school, & I used to play sports & run because I'm part Filipino, so that side of my family kinda' pushed me to be athletic, multi-talented, etc., so I took private lessons for almost everything growing up, even outside of sports, haha. But yeah. I had one of the fastest mile times in my class because I could literally run that shit in five minutes. I've always loved working out in the gym, from focusing on different parts of my body on different days to dead-lifting weights, running, etc.
^^^ If you think that I have a shitload of medals from running, my mom has way more because she's an ultra marathon runner, which is probably why she's so skinny & such a milf. She was a really big influence when I was in high school, & she still is. She's where I got my love for running from, & even though she worked out in the gym a lot when I was in high school, too, I didn't really get into it until after I graduated & actually worked at a few gyms. Unlike running, my love for the gym was something that I found on my own, but I still to have a soft spot for running. A few of my favorite races that I ran were the Nike Women's half marathon (you get a Tiffany's necklace after you cross the finish line with a Nike swoosh engraved on it), the Lulu Lemon half marathon in Canada with my mom, etc. I really love the fact that my mom's active because whenever I come visit her back in my home town, we always go running together, or sometimes, we sign up for races & run them together, but there are some races that we run on our own, even if we can't run them together. Even though she works out at the gym as well, out of the both of us, she's the one who's more into running. I mean, duh. She's an ultra marathon runner. I'm more into working out in the gym because I was a certified personal trainer. So, we each do both, but one of us does one more than the other. I've worked at, like, four different gyms after high school while going to school, & it was one of the best & most fun jobs ever, lol.
I used to work at City Sports Club in Fremont, & I worked eight hours a day for six out of seven days of the week while going to school, but I wasn't really trippin' off of it because for a gym job, it was hella fun, & I was consistently making $800+ every single paycheck, plus my commission, but if you know me or if you're one of my homies, then you'd know that I got fired from that job for harassing & bullying two of my co-workers, LMFAO. If y'all know Linda or Ryan Jordan, then they know everything, hahaha. Linda's my home girl, & Ryan Jordan was my co-worker, & he easily became one of my really close friends that I partied with outside of the gym. Anyway, shortly after I got let go at City Sports, Ryan transferred & got a job at Bally's gym in Fremont... & so did Linda (what are the odds?), & Ryan referred me, so I got hired there as an uncertified personal trainer. They don't usually do that, but they only hired me because 1.) Ryan referred me, 2.) I'm a nursing student, so I already took a lot of classes that were related to the gym because they were required for my major (for example, I took nutrition, anatomy, etc.), & 3.) I was already working out at the gym on my own outside of this job with my own routines, & I was always helping other people work out, giving people tips, etc., so as you can see, I was already extremely knowledgeable in all of the areas required for my job. I did, however, still get certified while I was working there (& while I was training to bikini compete), so yes, I'm certified now. Bally's paid for my program & my CPR certification, which as a nursing student, I needed that as well anyway, so everything literally worked out in the end, lol. I really loved being a personal trainer because people always asked me for tips on diet, exercising, etc. The only thing that I didn't like about being a personal trainer was that some of my clients would text me at, like, 6 in the morning when I was still asleep because they were always asking me about nutrition facts & what they should eat for breakfast, but it's all good. I haven't worked in a gym in a while, but it was literally one of my favorite jobs ever.
Anyway, I encourage everyone to be active & / or go to the gym all of the time, even if you're already skinny because that's how I am, but you should still tone your body, watch what you eat, & just be healthy in general. I'm hella skinny with a very low fat percentage (which yes, I do measure very often), & I also have a really fast metabolism, but I still like to watch what I eat & go to the gym just to be kind to my body. Going to the gym's so fun & therapeutic. I love it. & Of course, I do spoil myself & indulge in unhealthy but yummy ass food sometimes. You guys should also join the Nike Training / Running Club in San Francisco. They have a lot of events that you can book & join & be apart of. I also do boxing, pole dancing / pole fitness classes (which is a really good work-out, especially for your core), Lulu Lemon Run & Yoga Club, etc. For boxing, I usually go to B Street Boxing Gym in Burlingame, but I've also trained under one of my former co-workers at City Sports. His name's Jerry, & he trained hella UFC fighters. Let me know if you want his contact information.
I love working out because I like giving my man heart attacks from looking so damn good all of the fuckin' time, lol.
